reading this made me realize how many “factions” i’ve accidentally created in my own life/worlds without calling them that. like little groups that form around an idea or vibe and then somehow shape the whole story. kind of makes me want to go back and actually name them just to see what shifts.
If you do, you might be surprised. Factions appear in tons of stuff, often by other names. War is probably the easiest example. With a war scenario, each of the ‘major’ powers would be a factions. Each of those factions would have several other factions, like allied countries, or neutrality. The smaller factions might splinter off, or swap sides depending on how the story develops.
